A life less ordinary in Phuket

A sustainably minded, aesthetically unique villa springs to life at an unspoiled locale on the famed Thai island

Few locations on Phuket’s stunning west coast offer a lifestyle proposition as dynamic and luxurious as Bangtao.

Steadily growing in popularity for its uncrowded beaches and elite community, Bangtao attracts discerning residents and travellers alike. The area commands a significant share of Phuket’s hospitality and property market, representing 21% of the island’s hotel pipeline projects and 14% of its branded residences, according to the consultancy C9 Hotelworks.

At the heart of this vibrant locale is The Brickhouse, a villa that is as much an architectural statement as it is an opportunity for property ownership for those who appreciate fine design and extraordinary living.

This one-of-a-kind property is the brainchild of award-winning Australian architect Patrick Keane and his acclaimed design studio, Enter Projects Asia. The Brickhouse merges mid-century modern design principles with organic forms, creating a space that is both timeless and contemporary.

“Architecture is not for the faint-hearted,” says Keane. “Our aesthetic must be contemporary because our work strives for lasting relevance. A designer must embody the spirit of the age, reference the past, and be optimistic about the future.”

Keane has adeptly harnessed the craftsmanship and natural materials of Southeast Asia in his designs. The Princeton-educated architect, born in East Africa and raised in Australia and the UK, employs tech-savvy 3D design to craft his masterworks, favouring sustainable alternatives to non-renewable materials.

The Brickhouse furthers his legacy. This villa, crafted from noble materials like brick, slate, glass, and wood, creates a visual narrative that seamlessly unfolds from day to night. These materials not only enhance the home’s aesthetic appeal but also ensure it harmonises with its natural surroundings.

A seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living sets The Brickhouse apart. Every zone of the property features cross-ventilation, designed to benefit both personal and environmental health. All necessary amenities are wrapped up in this light-filled, open-air experience.

The villa’s centrepiece is a mid-house interior courtyard—a green, private space open to the sky, with two date palms infusing it with a bold silhouette. The interiors also feature custom-crafted, wood-led furnishings.

The property banks on a dual lifestyle offering. On one side, the courtyard beckons. On the other, the villa fronts a golf course water feature, alongside an 18-metre freeform pool, a placid spot suitable for unwinding and appreciating the sunset.

An energy-efficient, low-maintenance home, The Brickhouse embodies sustainability with grassroots, environmentally based design and technology. It relies less on the grid, thanks to fully installed solar panels and inverter, a hybrid water heater, EV connection, and a pool saltwater chlorinator. They not only reduce the property’s carbon footprint but also provide long-term cost savings for the homeowner.

“While everyone is paying lip service to sustainability, it needs to happen at a grassroots level,” Keane says.

The Brickhouse is a departure from the air-conditioned white boxes typical of resort destinations and a nod to a modernising, eco-conscious Thailand. The villa’s forward-thinking design extends to its roof overhangs and house orientation, maximising natural light and ventilation while minimising heat gain. This thoughtful approach ensures The Brickhouse represents a Thai fusion sensibility that is becoming highly sought-after in Asian design.

Located within the exclusive gated estate of Laguna Homes, The Brickhouse offers direct frontage and views over the par 72 Laguna Golf championship course—a feature that would appeal to golf enthusiasts.

As part of the sprawling integrated resort Laguna Phuket, The Brickhouse residents have access to world-class amenities, including fine dining restaurants, luxury spas, and boutique shopping.

Newly completed and ready for immediate occupancy, The Brickhouse offers a rare chance to own a property in one of Phuket’s most desirable addresses. This freehold property encompasses a land area of 988 square metres with a total built-up area of over 688 sqm, featuring 525 sqm of indoor space.

The villa boasts expansive living spaces, including four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and dual living rooms for many kinds of lifestyle requirements. The setting is ideal for every occasion, whether entertaining guests or enjoying quality time with family.

The Brickhouse is more than just a home; it’s a place to live a life less ordinary, surrounded by the natural splendour of Bangtao, with an eye towards a luxurious future in Laguna Phuket. Whether it’s for a permanent residence or a holiday retreat, The Brickhouse will put a new spin on Phuket living.
