Eugene Lim YJ receives the first ever Rising Star title at the 13th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore)
A Rising Star is born at the Awards, celebrating a stellar career in the development of co-living spaces and more
Eugene Lim YJ, founder and CEO of The Assembly Place, made history today by receiving the Rising Star title at the 13th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore).
The ceremony at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore commemorated Eugene’s exceptional, precocious journey through the industry with an accolade presented for the first time in the history of the Awards.
Amid rapturous applause, Eugene accepted the inaugural golden statuette from Dr. Tan Tee Khoon, country manager for Singapore at PropertyGuru Group.
The trophy underscores a stellar career in the Singapore real estate sector. Eugene’s foray into the sector began with a personal aspiration—to finance his education. This initial drive would propel him on a decades-long odyssey of remarkable achievements and groundbreaking ventures.
Reputed for his natural leadership, Eugene’s tenure with a local real estate agency saw him galvanise a team of over 300 salespersons, many of whom have since become stalwarts in the industry. This early display of prowess highlights his innate ability to influence and inspire others.
At the age of 29, Eugene ascended to the role of director at Knight Frank (Singapore), where he collaborated with developers to successfully launch over 35 projects, both locally and internationally. His tenure as director of marketing and sales at Oxley Holdings further solidified his reputation, overseeing the successful launch of 15 projects.
Eugene ultimately vaulted to the upper echelons of entrepreneurship with the establishment of The Assembly Place, a revolutionary venture in co-living spaces.
Since starting as a six-room enterprise, The Assembly Place has burgeoned under Eugene’s leadership; it now boasts over 120 locations. The company has expanded its portfolio beyond co-living spaces to include boutique hotels, serviced apartments, and hostels.
The Assembly Place has even embarked on an ambitious student accommodation project, the Campus at Telok Kurau, boasting a land area of over 100,000 sq ft and featuring over 400 premium beds.
Through amazing business acumen and ambition, Eugene’s star is only projected to shine brighter with time.
