What does being named the 2018 Indonesia Real Estate Personality of the Year mean to you and your business?
I am truly honoured to receive such award. This award is more appropriately deserved by my family who has fully supported me for more than 47 years of my work. I am who I am today because of them, because of their supports and sacrifices. The award is also the result of the collaborated hard work of our team in Intiland in achieving our vision, that is to make possible the experience of not only living but living well throughout Indonesia. The concept of living well can only be realised by the well-orchestrated efforts of our team at Intiland in pursuing our dreams together.
Why does Indonesian real estate have a bright future despite its current challenges?
There are several key factors for the optimism of Indonesia property industry. Market demand is still strong, abundant middle class, high backlogs and our property prices are still competitive compared to neighboring countries.
What are Intiland Development’s current projects that best describe its commitment to the property market?
Pioneer and trendsetter in developing successful premium projects: South Quarter, an integrated mixed-use development in South Jakarta; Graha Famili, the first golf-themed luxurious residential development in Surabaya; Regatta, the first luxury sea front condominium in Jakarta; Pantai Mutiara, the first reclaimed housing development in Southeast Asia; and Intiland Tower Jakarta, the first green building in Indonesia designed by Paul Rudolph.
