Sinar Mas Land group CEO to be honoured at PropertyGuru Indonesia Property Awards gala
The editors of PropertyGuru Property Report magazine have chosen Michael Widjaja, group CEO of Sinar Mas Land, as the 2017 Indonesia Real Estate Personality of the Year.
The sole accolade not given by the judging panel, the Real Estate Personality of the Year award goes to Widjaja for promoting ‘digital ecosystem’ in real estate and leading the way in ‘smart digital city’ development.
“We have selected him for his efforts to promote an ‘integrated smart, digital eco’ development by establishing a highly innovative community such as the Digital Hub in BSD City in Tangerang,” the magazine said in a statement.
“A development like BSD City can positively impact the livelihood of local start-ups and smaller-sized firms, as well as promote higher education and advanced research among Indonesians.”
Sinar Mas Land’s Knowledge Hub at Digital Hub, BSD City is also nominated this year in the hotly contested Best Office Architectural Design category, which has six shortlisted projects.
The company dominated the inaugural edition of the awards in 2015 when Sinar Mas Land earned the title of Best Developer along with three other major accolades.
The special award for Widjaja will be presented during the third annual PropertyGuru Indonesia Property Awards gala dinner on Thursday, 12 October 2017, at the Fairmont Jakarta.
