The Macau Daily Times also reported on the executive council’s plans to regulate tourism tax by redefinition of what encompasses tourism tax, which involves reviewing the current goods and services provided by hotels and restaurants.
This follows the introduction of reductions and exemptions from a range of taxes, as well as extensions of tax exemption coverage in 2021. This move was projected to benefit more than 370 tourism-related establishments and cost approximately MOP379 million (USD47 million).
