2020 PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards first virtual edition marks the 8th anniversary of celebrating the nation’s finest in real estate
Applauding the archipelago’s exceptional developers, projects, and designs, the virtual gala unveiled the finest development companies across the country
Recuperating from a series of typhoon and the pandemic, Philippines’ crème de la crème of real estate emerged victoriously through the much anticipated virtual 8th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards.
On November 25th, the gala broadcasted not only exemplary nominees from Metro Manila, but also outstanding developers from the rest of the archipelago including Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. For the first time in history, the general public was invited to celebrate the victors of 2020, recognising their iconic builds and passion to revamp living standards.
The first-ever virtual event attracted 2,000 global viewers as of 26 November. Property seekers, nominees, and general participants from all around the world were able to seamlessly connect through our integrated live chat feature.
A total of 37 awards were presented this year, representing a diverse range of remarkable industry leaders from Metro Manila and provincial hubs that have used their resources and platform to help its nation, especially through difficult situations like the recent, unexpected typhoons. SM Development Corporation (SMDC) was a force to be reckoned with, accumulating eight wins, including the coveted Best Developer and Best Lifestyle Developer awards.
Taking another spotlight of the night was Mr. Edgar B. Saavedra, Chairman of Megawide Construction Corporation, who triumphed the special Philippines Real Estate Personality of the Year award. This exclusive award is selected annually only by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report Magazine.
The editors mentioned, “since he co-founded his company in 1997, he has made it their mission to enhance the lifestyle of Filipinos by developing first-world infrastructure across the country, from an award-winning airport to high-quality affordable homes and even successful solar power projects.”
“With this distinction, PropertyGuru lauds Mr. Saavedra’s passion in serving his countrymen, as well as his commendable leadership at Megawide Construction Corporation,” they added.
Enchanting the night away, Jett Gunther and Chadanis Khamnuan charmed the audience throughout the whole 90-minute-long virtual gala event.
